CAFCASS (Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service) was established in April 2001 from what had been The Family Court Welfare Section of the Probation Service, the Guardian ad Litem and the Children’s Section of the Official Solicitor’s office. The Agency deals with matters relating to children in the Magistrates and County Courts. No statistics are available but it is acknowledged that domestic violence is often a significant issue in such cases. | |||
