TEESSIDE BUSINESS WOMEN STEP UP FOR MSP!

Women who took part in chalenge for My Sisters Place

Liza Pontone of Active Financial and Corporate Supporter of My Sisters Place, had approached us late last year about getting more invoved and raising funds for us in a mass sponsored event. The idea was to walk a section of the Cleveland Way all 22 of them, in one day together.

Fast forward to COVID-19 and unfortunately this had to be cancelled. However, Liza still wanted to help and so rallied the women to chose a fitness goal instead that they could all complete remotely – the ideal distraction in lockdown!

Over the last 2 weeks, 23 women have run, cycled, ridden, bounced, walked. They have supported each other when things got tough- they pushed through when it hurt and all the while had the women and families we help at the forefront of their minds.

Yesterday, Liza held a Zoom call with all participants and it was a wonderful moment for them all to share and celebrate in their success, as well as find out more about My Sisters Place and what the money raised will help us achieve, we also heard from Claire Walton ( Leaders are MAD) about the chemical changes in our brains when we give to others – fascinating.

To all 23 women and their supporters, thank you. Thank you for showing that the women we help are not alone and our community cares, and thanks for raising a fab amount of money – £2162 as of today!
