Therapy Models and Interventions
The service offers an integrated trauma informed therapeutic approach which draws on a range of therapeutic models/interventions listed below to ensure that therapy meets individual needs.

Counselling and Therapeutic Services provision
Therapy is facilitated by a team of female counsellors (Sex Discrimination Act 7 (2) (e) applies)
The length of time needed for counselling will vary depending on therapeutic need and the service offers:
- Brief Interventions access from 1 – 6 sessions
- Mid Term Therapy access from 1 – 12 sessions
- Specific Trauma work access for up to 20 sessions EMDR or TF-CBT
- Long Term Therapy access for up to 1 year
- Disabled Outreach Therapy Service (DOTS) access between 1 – 8 sessions
Length of each session
Each session of brief, mid and long term or DOTS are 50 minutes in duration. Sessions of EMDR or TF-CBT are between 60 – 90 minutes.

Monday 9am to 5pm
Tuesday 11am to 5pm
Wednesday 9am to 5pm
Thursday 9am to 5pm
Friday 9am to 4.30pm
How to access the service
To access the service we ask you to attend a 30 minute assessment session to find out more and to discuss what your goals for therapy are. If progression into therapy is agreed you will then be placed on the counselling waiting list and informed when a session becomes available. Refer to our How to Access section
