Fundraising

Every year, My Sisters Place supports more than 5,500 individuals and their children to live free from violence and abuse. Through our free, accessible services, we provide safety, advocacy, education, and the chance to rebuild lives with dignity, justice, and hope. This work not only saves lives today but also shapes safer, healthier futures for the children who experience violence in their homes.

It costs £28,654 a week to run our service and we rely on donations and sponsorship.

We can’t thank our supporters enough for what they do. There are lots of ways you can get involved in supporting My Sisters Place, whether you’re a local business, individual, school or community group, find out how you can show your support below.

Thank you for considering supporting My Sisters Place. With your help, we can continue to protect lives, restore hope, and break cycles of abuse for future generations.

Donate

Your donation helps us continue to deliver these vital services. Every contribution goes directly towards ensuring survivors and their children have a safe place to turn, access to justice, and the support that empowers them to heal and thrive. By choosing to give, you are standing with us against violence and investing in lasting social change.

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can make your gift go even further by adding Gift Aid. This allows us to claim an additional 25p from the government for every £1 you donate—at no extra cost to you.

Online donations

Online donations are a simple and impactful way to support our work, whether you choose to give a one-off gift or set up a regular monthly donation. Every contribution, no matter the size or frequency, helps us continue our mission and reach more people in need.

A single gift can make an immediate difference, while ongoing monthly support gives us the strength to act now and the security to plan for the future, ensuring survivors can always find the safety and support they deserve. A regular gift is more than a donation — it’s an investment in a safer future. Your ongoing generosity means we can offer consistent, life-changing support for every survivor who reaches out, today and for years to come.

We're currently in the process of setting up our Givestar. Please contact us for alternative ways to donate.

There are several ways you can leave a gift in your will:

For example: I give 10% of the residue of my estate to My Sisters Place (123, Borough Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 3AN, Registered Charity Number 1137319) to be applied by My Sisters Place for its charitable purposes.

Donating a fixed amount of money. For example: I give £5,000 to My Sisters Place (123, Borough Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 3AN, Registered Charity Number 1137319) to be applied by Cambridge Women’s Aid for its charitable purposes.

What to consider when writing your will

It’s important for everyone to keep an up-to-date will so that their wishes are acted upon. Here are some points to remember when making your will:

Work out your assets

Making a list of your assets and liabilities will give you a good idea of the value of your estate.

This will help to ensure that you follow all legal formalities and create a valid will. You can find a solicitor in your area through the Law Society at www.lawsociety.org.uk or by calling 020 7242 1222.

Make a list of people, charities and organisations you would like to remember.

These are the people named in your will who will carry out your wishes.

Review your will whenever there are major changes in your personal, financial and family circumstances.

Leave your original, signed will with your solicitor or legal adviser – this is the only legally binding version. Keep a copy yourself, and make sure your executors know where to find it.

If you would like to add a gift to My Sisters Place to an existing will, you can do so easily by using a codicil. A codicil is a supplement that allows additions or changes to be made to a will. Please consult a professional when making a codicil. You can find a solicitor in your area through the Law Society or by calling 020 7242 1222.

What should I do after including My Sisters Place in my will?

Notifying us of your gift will enable us to thank you and keep you updated on our work. Please email us on fundraising@mysistersplace.co.uk

Not everyone can donate or fundraise, but everyone can make a difference by raising their voice. Sharing our story will help us reach more people, inspire action, and create real change for those affected by domestic abuse.

Campaigning with us is about standing together—raising awareness of the realities of domestic abuse, challenging harmful myths, and misconceptions and encouraging others to get involved. Every social media post, every conversation, and every share helps shine a light on the issue and ensures survivors’ voices are heard.

Whether you post about us online, invite us to speak at your school, workplace, or community group, or simply talk to friends and family about why support for domestic abuse services matters, you’re helping to grow a movement for safety and change.

We’ll provide the tools, resources, and stories you need to spread the word—because together, our voices are stronger, louder, and more powerful in building a society where everyone can live free from fear and violence.
