How Events and Activities Help MSP

Take part in one of our fundraising events and help make a real difference. Whether you’re signing up as an individual, with friends, or as part of a team, our events offer a fantastic way to support our work while having fun and getting involved.

Our events programme includes a mix of opportunities, with some organised by us and others delivered by external event providers that you can sign up for whilst fundraising for our charity. From physical challenges like runs, walks, and cycles, to social events such as quiz nights and entertainment evenings, there’s something for everyone.

Whatever you choose, you’ll be part of a community of supporters all working towards the same goal. We’ll be here to support you with your fundraising every step of the way, helping you make the most of your experience.

Payroll Giving

This is a simple and tax-efficient way for employees to support our work directly from their salary. Donations are taken straight from pay before tax, meaning donations go further at no extra cost to them.

For example, if they donate £10 through Payroll Giving, it may only cost them £8 if they’re a basic rate taxpayer, with the difference made up through tax relief. It’s an easy way to make a regular contribution that adds up to a significant impact over time.

For employers, offering a Payroll Giving scheme is a great way to support your team in giving back while strengthening your commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility. It shows that your organisation is dedicated to making a positive difference and empowers employees to support causes they care about in a convenient and meaningful way.

Payroll Giving is flexible too as employees can give as much or as little as they like and can change or stop their donations at any time. When combined across a workforce, even small monthly donations can create lasting change.

If your organisation doesn’t yet offer Payroll Giving, it is something worth considering.

Matched Giving

Matched giving is a simple yet powerful way for businesses to amplify the impact of their employees’ fundraising. Through a matched giving scheme, an organisation agrees to match the amount an employee raises effectively doubling the donation and the difference it can make.

This approach not only increases the overall funds raised but also motivates employees to get involved and push their fundraising further. Knowing their efforts will be matched by their employer can inspire greater participation, encourage friendly competition, and create a stronger sense of shared purpose across the workplace.

Matched giving also demonstrates a clear commitment to social impact. It shows that your organisation values and supports the causes that matter to your employees, while reinforcing your wider Corporate Social Responsibility goals. It’s a meaningful way to turn individual efforts into collective action and maximise the positive change your business can create.
