Children and Young Persons Counsellor/Psychotherapist

2 x 3 Day Posts – 3 Years Funding

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join My Sisters Place for the launch of our new ME TIME – Children and Young Persons Therapy Service and we are currently looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated therapists to support children and young people impacted by domestic abuse.

The post-holder will work within the Counselling and Therapeutic Services Team providing individual trauma informed one to one counselling and therapeutic services, including education and therapeutic group work within our new ‘ME TIME’ CYP’s.

Applicants will work within MSP’s Trauma Informed TIME Model to facilitate effective delivery of therapeutic provision to children and young people between the ages of 4 to 16yrs.

Applicants will be fully qualified to provide counselling/psychotherapy to children and young people, be a registered member of a governing body and have access to your own vehicle for travel.

This position may require flexible working hours to meet the demands of the service and applicants must be available to work across multiple sites and support administration and organisational elements of delivery.

 Closing date for application is 28th February 2021 with interviews taking place in March 2021.

TRAUMA THERAPIST – SECONDED ROLE – PROJECT PARTNER

This project is led by Recovery Connections in partnership with My Sisters Place, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. It is a much-needed service in support of people on a recovery pathway from addiction who have experienced trauma. The project will provide specialist trauma support offering participants an opportunity to build resilience and work towards recovery.

Applicants will be providing individual gender sensitive, trauma informed, one to one counselling and therapeutic services, including education and therapeutic group work to trauma experienced people with associated substance use within a community and residential rehab settings based in Middlesbrough and Gateshead.  The posts include therapeutic delivery and administration support regarding all counselling and therapeutic services/projects.

Applicants will have experience in delivering, brief, mid and long term one to one evidence-based psychological interventions and be able to work from an integrative perspective including humanistic, psychodynamic, psychoeducational, CBT, feminist and trauma informed approaches into their work to meet the needs of the client group and be able to develop and facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic group work as and when required.

Successful applicants will have an in-depth knowledge and training in a recognized psychological model/s.  Have significant experience of working with domestic abuse, substance use and with complex trauma-based presentations in a therapeutic environment with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience.
